- What are they made of?
My bentwood pieces are made of Alder for the frames and Willow for the bent shoots (with the exception of my outdoor pieces which are made of Cedar). All bentwood pieces are assembled green and then dry or “cure”. - Can I leave it outside?
My Bentwood pieces are best inside or on a covered deck. - What type of care is needed?
All pieces are oiled with a 50/50 mixture of Boiled Linseed and Turpentine. Apply with a household mister, wipe off all excess with a cotton cloth, and allow to dry. Treatment should be reapplied once a year. - Where does the wood come from?
All woods used are a weed species that grow in ditches, along logging roads, and in clearcuts. Harvesting is done by hand. - Are these my designs?
Many of these designs are traditional or folk designs, some are my own. I’m always coming up with new ideas and improvements. All pieces are made by hand, by me.
